raises funds for Vasilije Pužić (2011).

Vasilije was born on 20 June 2011 in Belgrade, as a healthy baby, after a properly maintained and controlled pregnancy. He developed normally, like all his peers. He enjoyed playing with other children in the playground.

In June 2018, Vasilije was in pain and vomited. At that moment, his grandmother was with him and did not think it was something serious.

Vasilije continued playing, he was even admitted to school. At the reception ceremony of the first grades he complained of nausea, vomited and fainted. He was urgently transported to the Institute for Mother and Child. He was examined at the gastroenterology department, where the doctors thought that the reason for the nausea was starting the school and the very change it brings, to which the children do not react the same.

Vasilije was supposed to be discharged from the hospital, but additional examinations were done. A shock followed. A head scan showed that Vasilije had a 5cm brain tumor.

He was urgently transferred to neurosurgery, where he underwent surgery to remove the tumor. After the operation, his condition worsened. He was motionless in the bed, without any reaction. He was  in the hospital.

He was transferred from neurosurgery to the Institute of Oncology, where he started radiation to the head and spine. This was followed by 8 cycles of chemotherapy. Vasilije had a hard time withstanding any therapy, he was afraid. He just asked Mom and Grandma to be by his side.

Covid followed and Vasilije was at home, in a wheelchair, without a chance to go to rehabilitation. He just sat there, waiting for better days.

After the situation with the pandemic calmed down, Vasilije was admitted to the Clinic for Rehabilitation of Dr. Miroslav Zotović. Everyone put a lot of effort there in his recovery, but without much progress because Vasilije was physically weak.

Vasilije is a 10-year-old boy now, eager to play, eager to spend as much time outside as possible. In order to stand up on his feet and learn to walk again,  to progress, it is necessary to work with him intensively. 

Vasilije needs funds for physical therapy, speech therapy and psychological treatments, therapeutic swimming and spa treatment.
