Marko was born on 4 November 1990 in Sremska Mitrovica. In July 2007, as a high school student, Marko went to the river, unaware that that day would change his life radically. Marko dived into the water and injured his spine.

He was urgently transported to the Emergency Center in Belgrade.. Unfortunately, Marko suffered severe injuries, damage to the cervical spine, and an injury to the cervical vertebrae, which resulted in the loss of both arms and both legs.

He spent a month at the Emergency Center, before being transferred to the "Dr Miroslav Zotović" center in Sokobanjska for rehabilitation. This was followed by a painful period of getting used to living with a disability, painstaking exercises in order to become independent for life, as much as possible. With hard work, Marko managed to move his arms, but his legs remained in the same condition.

After being discharged home, Marko continued his education. He finished high school, then enrolled in college. He is employed now. Alone, at home, he does exercises so that one day he can stand on his own feet. Now, he is "one step away" from that because he managed to take a few steps with the help of a walker.

There is a clinic in Novi Sad that can offer him adequate physical therapy in order to improve his health and make him walk again.

He needs the funds for treatment, specialist examinations, surgery, rehabilitation and travelling costs.
