raises funds for Dunja Mihovilović (2013).

Dunja was born on 13 February 2013 in Čačak after a properly maintained and controlled pregnancy. Due to complications at birth, Dunja was out of oxygen. She was resuscitated and transferred to an incubator.

Her health deteriorated sharply when she was one year old. She hadn't been able to walk and the words she had used were lost.

Specialist examinations and diagnostics had started. Dunja was diagnosed with disharmonious development and epilepsy. Physical and medical therapies followed. In spite of therapies, Dunja had more and more frequent seizures.

Dunja's parents sent DNA for analysis to the Faculty of Biology at the Center for Human and Molecular Genetics in Belgrade. Genetic analysis  showed that Dunja had RS Rett syndrome (a genetic disorder characterised by acquired microcephaly, mental retardation, autistic behaviour, ataxia, characteristic stereotypic hand movements, and people with this syndrome become completely immobile over the years).

Only female children suffer from Rett syndrome, and Dunja is unfortunately one of them. This is a girl who is not able to walk. Like all other girls with this syndrome, Dunja loses interest in contact as well as interest in play. She is closed in her world. She often has emotional disorders, her sleep rhythm is disturbed. Chewing and swallowing are difficult. She has frequent epileptic seizures.

In order to stop the progression of this disease, we all need to help her with our donations so that she can go to regular treatments.

She needs funds for treatment, specialist examinations, physical therapy, speech therapy and special education treatments, for the elevator, Toby tablet for easier communication, for medicines and supplements.
