Vukašin was born on 13 July 2020 in Prijepolje.

There were complications at the birth due to the wrapping of the umbilical cord around the abdomen and neck, when Vukašin was out of oxygen. He was discharged from the hospital with an emphasized tremor of arms and legs with the advice of a pediatrician to do an ultrasound examination of the head.

His parents insisted on further analysis due to a visible delay in development, so he was sent to Belgrade for a detailed examination. Along with the examinations, he was going to rehabilitation in Sokobanjska.

At the age of one, Vukašin's health condition was finally diagnosed. A mutation in the TSEN 54 gene was discovered, which caused pontocerebellar hypoplasia of the brain type 2A.

It is a very rare congenital disease that affects only 300 people in the world. As a result, Vukašin has microcephaly, epilepsy, increased muscle tone and severe stasis in psychomotor development.

Vukašin is now 20 months old. He goes to physical therapy regularly. Progress is slow but visible. He still doesn't turn around, sit or crawl, but Vukašin is a smiling and happy boy. He loves songs, sound toys and swimming.

Considering that the parents have already exhausted their funds for the treatment so far and that they have a long and uncertain fight ahead, they need financial help. That is why they ask all humane people to help as much as they can.

He needs funds for treatment in the country and abroad, medicines, supplements, diapers, diagnostics, laboratory analysis, BDA training, stem cell transplants, daily rehabilitation, physical exercises, occupational therapies, dolphin therapies, sensory therapies, speech therapy and special education treatments, orthopedic aids, supplements, as well as for travelling and accommodation costs.
