Marija is a student at the Faculty of Medicine in Nis, winner of numerous awards and scholarships.

Stomach ache  appeared first in 2016. Marija had two operations within a year, but nothing improved. After the ache returned, after gallbladder surgery, she began testing to find the cause of her condition.

In 2018, a CT scan revealed that she had Nutcracker syndrome - circumaortic (the rarest form) and superior mesenteric artery syndrome.

Marija started her treatment at a clinic in Istanbul and she needs to go there once a month for examinations by a gastroenterologist.

The only cure for Nutcracker syndrome is surgery, which is complicated and requires the involvement of over 10 surgeons who will determine how to proceed with it based on her anatomy. Therefore, it will be necessary for her to undergo a series of tests before the operation.

Let's enable this brave girl to continue her treatment abroad so that she can continue her life with a smile, return to her duties and to the university.

Funds are needed for surgery, medicines, supplements, diagnostics, laboratory analyses, check-ups, as well as for travelling and accommodation costs during the treatment.
