Mihajlo was born with Struge-Weber syndrome, which belongs to the group of phakomatoses characterized by the appearance of tumorous changes on the skin, nervous system and numerous other organs, especially on the eye, with the assumption that the cause was a genetic predisposition.

Mihajlo was diagnosed with Sturge Weber Syndrome Hemangioma (D18.0 Haemangioma, quovis loco) one month after birth, and hemangiomas of the face, buttocks, thighs, legs and feet were diagnosed in the discharge list for the newborn. According to his parents, after he  was diagnosed, the options offered were to immediately perform a high-risk operation or to monitor the condition with certain therapy in the hope that the situation would improve. During the following years, it was determined that the disease was progressing and that the part affecting the face began to spread to the brain and his life was in danger, so treatment was started with laser operations to stop the progression of the disease. In the meantime, Mihajlo lost  sight in one eye, and his sight in the other was significantly damaged, so with regular interventions, doctors are fighting to save it.

So far, one laser facial surgery has been performed, and further treatment continues every three months.

Funds are needed for the purchase of necessary medical consumables, for specialist examinations and laboratory analyses.
