raises funds for Ognjena Bojkovića (2013

Ognjen was admitted to the Department of Neonatology at the University Children’s Hospital on the first day of his life due to skin changes of the epidermolysis bullosa type (Q81.9 Epidermolysis bullosa, non specificata), known to the public as "butterfly children" disease.

Ognjen was born without skin on his legs, his immune system is weakened despite supplementation, because he does not eat solid food and is prone to infections due to open wounds. Due to damage to the mucous membrane, he had dilatation of the oesophagus three times and due to pain in his legs, he has difficulty moving and gets tired quickly. In order to have adequate care he spends four hours in the morning and in the evening after bathing in treating wounds, removing excess skin and dressing with bandages, which he has to wear continuously. 

Since the beginning of this year, a glimmer of hope has appeared for all parents of children suffering from this merciless disease. The American company "Krystal Biotech" produced the medicine "Vyuvek" that prevents wound infections, closes them and delays their spread, improves the immune system and prolongs the life of children suffering from epidermolysis bullosa.

For Ognjen's treatment abroad, where this medicine is available, large financial resources are needed.

Due to the nature of the disease, Ognjen's parents faced very expensive treatment costs that are necessary daily, and demanded very complicated care (special bandages, creams, clothing, nutrition).

He needs funds for Vyuvek therapy abroad, additional medical services, travelling and accommodation costs  during the hospital treatment.
