Una is the first child born in term after the first pregnancy, maintained hormonally in the first trimester. At nine months, she started sitting independently, and walking at twelve months. At the age of one, she used a few meaningful words, and at the age of 15-16 months, she stopped saying learned words and began to avoid contact. Since the age of two, she has been a patient of the Institute for Speech Pathology in Belgrade, and since the age of four, she has been monitored at the Institute for Mental Health (IMH) due to delays in speech and social development. She privately attended speech therapy-defectology treatment which led to improvement, so she mastered voices, increased her vocabulary and  understanding of orders. At the age of three, she had tonsillectomy and surgical incision of the eardrums, and at the age of three and a half, she had her first febrile convulsion. At the age of 4, she was diagnosed with developmental disorder of the autism spectrum at the IMH. Until the age of seven, she had several more febrile convulsions, after which she was diagnosed with symptomatic focal epilepsy and epilepsy syndromes with simple partial seizure (G40.1 Epilepsia idiopathica (focalis) (partialis) et syndromata epileptica cum impetu simplici partiali) since then she has been using chronic antiepileptic therapy that helped her and calmed the seizures.

Currently, she still uses non-verbal communication, she has not learned a single word, she is not completely independent in self-care, she has not mastered basic school skills, she understands and performs simple orders, without aggressive outbursts. She responds to her name and then makes short-term eye contact, but she lacks verbal contact. However, involuntary and stereotyped movements are not observed.

Her parents see hope for Una's healing and improvement  in stem cell treatments.

Funds are needed for stem cell treatments, defectological and speech therapy treatments, for surgical and dental interventions, as well as for travel and accommodation costs during the treatment.
