Bogdan is the first child born after controlled pregnancy, in term, naturally. He suffers from Duchenne muscular dystrophy - muscular dystrophy (G71.0 Dystrophia musculorum), and his parents noticed the first symptoms of the disease at the age of two due to slower speech development, poor attention and motor skills. He started walking independently at 16 months, spoke his first syllables at 12 months, but his speech does not follow adequate development, which is why he regularly attends speech therapy treatments. At the age of 6, he began to complain of pain in his legs when walking uphill for a long time, he straightened himself to a standing position with support, he avoided stairs and felt tiredness and pain in his muscles. In April 2019, he was examined by an endocrinologist after a paediatrician  noticed that the child was late in growth, and in the same year, a genetic analysis revealed that the mother was the carrier of the mutation. He is being treated at the Clinic for Neurology and Psychiatry for children and youth and diagnosed with DMD (deletion of exome 50-54 in the DMD gene). Since August 2019, he has been receiving the medicine Calcort, he is regularly monitored by a children's cardiologist and pulmonologist, and physical treatment is carried out. In August 2022, it was discovered that Bogdan has a complete lack of growth hormone (E23.0 Hypopituitarism-reduced function of the pituitary gland), after which he was advised to start growth hormone therapy.

The disease is becoming more progressive day by day, Bogdan becomes aware of his illness and the fact that he no longer manages to carry out his previous daily activities independently. From 2022, he uses an electric scooter to go to school and is accompanied by a personal assistant. He is an excellent student.

Funds are needed for medicines, rehabilitation, kinesitherapy, massages, laboratory analyses, specialist examinations, hydrotherapy, orthopaedic and ophthalmological aids, as well as for travel expenses during the  treatment.
