Vasilije suffers from Duchenne's muscular dystrophy (G71.0 Dystrophia musculorum) - a hereditary progressive muscle disease whose first symptoms appear in early childhood. In 2023, a molecular genetic test was performed and the diagnosis was confirmed.

The disease first affects the muscles of the shoulders, hips, thighs and calves, over time it spreads to all muscles that weaken and the affected person loses the ability to walk. Vasilije climbs the stairs with difficulty, and gets up from a crouch with difficulty. In order to improve his health, intensive physical treatments and therapies are needed.
