Kristijan has been diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (G71.0 – Dystrophia musculorum Duchenne), a severe and progressive form of muscular dystrophy that causes gradual muscle weakness and degeneration. As the disease progresses, the muscles progressively lose function, making walking, movement, and breathing increasingly difficult.

In order to preserve muscle function, Kristijan takes vitamins and supplements that support the production of proteins essential for muscle activity. In addition to his primary condition, he has developed osteoporosis (M81 – Osteoporosis), which makes walking difficult and has led to the need for surgery on his left leg. His heart condition has also worsened, and he now requires medication for cardiac function due to dilated cardiomyopathy (I51.9 – Cardiomyopathia dilatativa). These medications are not covered by the national health insurance fund.

Kristijan’s parents are unemployed because they provide full-time care for him and his older brother, who has the same diagnosis. The family is appealing to all compassionate people to help through donations so that Kristijan can continue his treatment and rehabilitation.

Funds are needed for treatment, surgery, rehabilitation, physical therapy, medical and orthopedic aids, as well as their servicing and maintenance.
