After a regular pregnancy and grade ten at birth, parents noticed a slight curve on Andrej's spinal column when he was two months old. After a series of examinations, he was diagnosed with malignant scoliosis.

After placement of plaster orthoses on the spinal column, Andrej's condition worsened - his heart stopped and he was reanimated  twice in 24 hours. He was the next two months at the Institute for Mother and Child, in an intensive care where he was implanted  cannula in the throat so that he can breathe.

The struggle for Andrej's life continues abroad, where he needs more growing rod operations  - the installation of growing rods, which must be done every two to three years. The goal of the Turkish doctors is to delay the first operation as long as they can, for that reason Andrej goes every two and a half months to Turkey, where they make a special orthoses and follow the state of the spinal column, whose current curve is 71 degrees.
