Before the injury, Miroslav had a completely normal life. In addition to his job, he also worked in agriculture and he always had been sociable and full of energy. Miroslav is described by friends as a cheerful, witty and good-natured guy.

In April 2014, when he went to work, to the third shift, he had a car accident.

He was badly injured on that occasion. Subsequently, as an emergency, he arrived at Užice Hospital, after which he was transferred to the Institute for Orthopedic Diseases in Banjica, Belgrade. Then, after completing the diagnostic procedures, they discovered that Miroslav had fractures of the vertebrae C6 and C7. This fracture led to damage to the spinal cord, resulting in a quadriplegic condition.

Miroslav had two surgeries, at the Institute in Banjica, and at the Military Medical Academy.

After stabilization, rehabilitation began at Dr Miroslav Zotović Hospital in Belgrade. After that, the rehabilitation continued in Ribarska Banja, and then at home, in Bajina Bašta.

As none of the above gave significant results, Miroslav, in consultation with the doctors of the Military Medical Academy, started stem cell transplantation treatment.

So far, Miroslav has undergone three stem cell transplantations, which gave good results, but as Miroslav is not yet able to perform day-to-day activities on his own, he needs to continue treatment.

In order to continue treatment and rehabilitation, it is necessary for Miroslav to stay in the Clinic in Novi Sad, where he will get the necessary kinesitherapy, work therapy and electrotherapy. He also needs funds for orthopedic aids.
