raises funds for Sofija Vasiljević (2016).

 

Sofija was born in 2016. Due to the knot on the umbilical cord, Sofija gradually lost the supply of oxygen, which was completely interrupted under pressure. Due to perinatal asphyxia, there were further complications (neonatal convulsions, necessary application of mechanical ventilation, hypothermia). Sofija is struggling with hypertension, ventriculomegaly, laryngomalacia and malnutrition. She does not progress in weight, she is late in locomotor development, she is non-verbal, she does not sit, stand, walk or speak. She is fed through a gastrostomy due to impaired swallowing function.

 

Since 2020, she has started with speech therapy treatments, therapies with a somatopedist and an oligo phrenologist. Sofia is now stronger, she sits with support and is mentally interested in the environment. It is planned for her to have stem cell treatments and to continue intensively existing therapies. Further application of special high-energy formulas is also necessary.

 

Progress has been made, lack of financial support is still an obstacle. In previous years, the family managed the struggle with the help of extended family, friends, colleagues, acquaintances, fellow citizens who got to know about Sofija's struggle and decided to provide financial support.

 

Sofija needs funds for stem cell treatments, rehabilitation, physical, speech therapy, special education treatments, medications, supplements and funds to cover travelling and  accommodation costs.
