raises funds for Anđelija Nikolić (2016).

 

Anđelija was born after the first, properly controlled pregnancy. She was born in the 36th gestational week of pregnancy, by emergency caesarean section, when she was out of oxygen. In the seventh month, her parents noticed that Anđelija did not follow or react to the environment and she was not able to sit independently. In addition to all this, there were problems with feeding and disturbed sleep rhythm. At the age of one, she was diagnosed with Sy Angelman (a genetic disorder characterized by psychomotor retardation, speech retardation and neuromuscular abnormalities).

 

A month later, Anđelija got her first convulsions. She has been taking regular therapies ever since. She does not speak or walk, but she partially crawls. She also has strabismus and needs surgery. In addition to all that, she is a cheerful and persistent girl. She loves other children, she likes to bathe. She does not see any obstacles in front of her and wants to become independent. She can walk with the help of her mother.

 

Anđelija is being treated at the Special Hospital for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Neurology, Institute for Mother and Child and in Banja Koviljača spa. In order to progress as much as possible, she needs funds for strabismus surgery, daily physical, speech therapy and special education, neurorehabilitation with robotics abroad and orthopedic aids. She also needs funds for rehabilitation, spa treatment, travelling and accommodation costs, both in the country and abroad.
