Vladimir was born on 22 August 1988 in Užice. He lost his sight 4 years ago. It was quite a shocking and unbelievable situation. It was hard for him to face it. He was born with the diagnosis , Sy. Marfan (an inherited disease caused by a gene mutation, a connective tissue disorder that leads to changes in the eyes, bones, cardiovascular system) and it was followed by another diagnosis, H33.0 Ablatio retinae inveterata (a serious disease in which the retina separates from the underlying layers). If it is not treated in time, it can lead to irreversible vision loss.

At one point, it seemed to Vladimir that everything was lost, but a glimmer of hope appeared when the doctors suggested operation. Operations followed, one after another. He had five operations at the Clinical Center of Serbia, one at the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade. There was no improvement even after the sixth operation.

Vladimir was recommended to go to the city of Ufa in Russia to the Sverdlovsk Center for Eye and Plastic Surgery, where he underwent an operation after which he felt a small change, which restored his faith. The second procedure is planned for August this year. Vladimir lives alone with his father. The family covered the costs of the first operation but for the second operation he needs the help of all of us.
